Another Witty Saturday

Image
My oldest son playing with Photo Booth on my Mac Book So today is Saturday and like all Saturdays, my day starts at the crack of dawn with two little people acting as though the world is going to end because they are "dying from hunger" as my 8 year old says. So I get up as usual and cook breakfast for my little people. This time it was french toast, turkey bacon and eggs. We have turkey bacon and eggs for every breakfast because my husband caught a deal and bought out the whole store. So I try to be creative with this unending supply of poultry. This time my creativity only led me to french toast, but hey everyone was happy so that's all that matters. After breakfast, we start our Saturday cleaning. My 8 year old came up with this "clever" idea to get paid to do his chores...."where they do that at"??? When I was a kid, the only payment we got was not getting popped in the mouth for saying which chore we didn't want to do. After that la...

How to make the best Crockpot Dishes for a family on the move

Image
If your household is anything like mine, busy with small children, then you can understand that there are times when you do not feel like making those four course meals your family love (ok, I never made a four course meal, but you know what I mean). The crockpot has been a huge timesaver in our home. My family is able to get a wholesome meal and I am not on my feet for hours trying to prepare something for them. I am also a working mom, so having the crockpot is one of the best things money can buy! Here is one of my recipes for families on the go. This is my Pulled BBQ Chicken Sandwiches recipe. For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients: 1 lb of sliced chicken breast 2 tbl spoons of seasoning salt 1 tbl spoon of pepper 2 tbl spoons of minced onions 1 garlic clove 1 tbl spoon of parsley flakes 1 bottle of BBQ Sauce 1 cup of water 1 bag of hamburger buns I will be honest and say that I really do not use meas...

My New Adventure

Image
I am so excited to announce that I am a Freelance Writer!!! Well Besides my personal and inspirational blogs, I am a published writer on a website called logospost.com! I am too geeked..whoop whoop! It's crazy how life has a way of bringing things into perspective. I quit a stressful job. Quitting that job was the best decision I've made. The money was awesome, but it was not worth the stress that came with it. Since quitting my job, I started back with my writing. I am not doing this to get rich, I am doing it because I enjoy it. I was told that if you do what you love, you will never have to work a day in your life. I am not sure where this adventure will take me, but I am so looking forward to this ride!

Saturday Breakfast

Image
So we all know that Saturday should be the day of solace. It's the day we all unwind from our hectic week. We use this day to relax to sleep in....oh the thoughts of sleeping, what a wonderful peace it is to have a comfortable restful sleep. Waking up at 11am or later in the morning and have time to myself before getting my day started. Now as a mother, my Saturdays consist of 6am wake ups, (it should be a sin to wake up early on a Saturday) early morning cartoons and breakfast demands. This morning my little guys woke me up with the demands of hunger. Because my sleep has left me for the day, I get up and prepare the ritual Saturday morning breakfast. This morning consisted of Turkey Bacon, Scrambled Eggs and Homemade Fruit Smoothie. I try to create simple but healthy breakfasts that we can eat together as a family. The hubby and the boys enjoyed this one and I can say it was quite tasty. Mom has done it again and saved the day and I can now go back to my peaceful life of ...

Family Trip to D.C.

Image
This past March, my family and I had the awesome opportunity of attending the 2016 White House Easter Egg Roll! We were one family, out of the millions who submitted a lottery, to be chosen to attend this historical event! Winning this lottery was almost as great as winning a monetary lottery!....Well almost. We were so shocked and it was so unbelievable. I remember telling co-workers that I was taking PTO to go to the White House and they laughed in my face with the statement, "that's a good one Tish." I mean you hear about people going to the White House, but you never really know someone who has gone to the White House. Anyway, as we embarked on our journey, we had so much to see in so little time. One event that we fell upon was the Cherry Blossom Festival. For those of you who have never attended, I suggest that you do. Cherry Blossoms The National Cherry Blossom Festival is a spring celebration in Washington, D.C., commemorating the March 27, 1912...
